The Southern Tier Admirals Minor Midget AAA 1996 are off to a tremendous start to their 2011-2012 campaign posting a SCTA League best seven wins and zero losses. The team is 3-0 at home and 4-0 on the road with wins in Burlington, Oakville, St Catharines and Niagara Falls. The team has a GAA of 0.85 and are averaging just over 5 goals for per game.
At the Titans tournament in September, the first of the season for the Admirals, the team went 3-1 with wins over London Junior Knights Gold, Clarington Toros and Toronto Nationals. There lone loss came to the hands of the Eastern Ontario Wild by the score of 2-1. The team had a 2.50 GAA and a 3.50 GFA in four games. The Admirals failed to advance to the playoff round despite a 3-1 record.
In their second tournament of the season in London last weekend, the team finished the round robin portion of the tournament with a 3-1 record with wins over NPI Leafs, Elgin Middlesex and Dallas Stars. There lone loss came in the second game of the round robin when the Admirals fell to York-Simcoe Express by the score of 4-2. In the semi-final matchup, the Admirals defeated the Don Mills Flyers by the score of 4-1. In the finals, the Admirals lost to the London Knights Gold by the score of 5-2. The team had a 1.83 GAA throughout the tournament and averaged 3 goals for per game.
So far, the team has compiled a record of 16-3-0 scoring 79 goals and allowing 29 goals against. Good luck the rest of the way Admirals!
